Scandinavian whitewash floor in Dulwich

The effect of lye treatment on pine boards can be quite subtle. The initial treatment can simply leave the boards looking nice and raw, removing the yellow pigment in the pine without whitening the boards too much.
If a white floor is required from the start, an extra white oil can be used but we normally start with a white master oil which can give a beautifully subtle feel. From here the floors can be further whitened with the application of a white soap which is essential for cleaning and protecting the floors. A neutral soap can be used as well to balance the whitening effect so the client has control over the overall whiteness of the floors.
